► Silverado-Modjeska Recreation & Parks District ◄
The Silverado-Modjeska Recreation and Parks Board ("SMRPD") is a California special district comprised of five board members elected every four years. SMRPD develops and runs recreational programs in the canyons for youths, adults and seniors. SMRPD is also charged with management of the Silverado and Modjeska Community Centers, as well oversight of the operations of the Silverado Children's Center.
SMRPD is the only elected government entity in the canyons. SMRPD regular public meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm at the Silverado Community Center. See our calendar page for details. |
SMRPD also makes its facilities, including community centers and parks, available for rental to the public for special events such as weddings and meetings.

► Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary ◄
Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary is owned and run by California State University at Fullerton. Located near the end of Modjeska Canyon, Tucker has been voted one of the best birding sites in Orange County. Along with the birds, you'll find many other native plants and species. Tucker also runs special events and hikes at various times during the year. Tucker provides important educational enrichment programs for children of all ages.
Open 9-4, Tucker is closed on Mondays. |
