Bond Fire Relief Grants Fact SheetBackground: The ICL has received donations to distribute to victims of the Bond Fire. How much money is available? There is approximately $100,000 that can be distributed among all victims of the fire in the form of cash grants. Who may apply for a grant? Any canyon resident or property owner at the time of the Bond Fire who experienced fire-related damage, injury or loss may apply. How do I apply for a grant? Complete an application and return to the ICL. Applications are available on the ICL website https://www.intercanyonleague.org/bond-fire-grants.html . On the right hand side of this page, there is a link to download the application. Download and complete the application. Then either send the completed application to the ICL via regular mail, or scan and email the completed application to the ICL.
Demonstrating need and qualifying for a grant: The IRS requires that applicants demonstrate need, meaning that some evidence must be provided to show that losses are in excess of what the applicant will be receiving through insurance payments, GoFundMe gifts and other types of benefits. The application gives examples of what documentation may be required to establish need. What is the maximum grant award? Grants may be applied for in the range of $2,500 (minimum) to $7,500 (maximum). Time Frame: All applications must be received by March 1, 2021. The ICL Distribution Advisory Committee (DAC) will then complete the review of all applications and make award decisions. What type of grants may be requested? Grants are generally awarded only for specific losses. Examples include: $3,500 to replace an air conditioning unit, $2,500 for two months rent, $3,000 for insurance deductible, $2,700 for building permits. How are grants evaluated? The DAC will evaluate all grant requests and make recommendations to the ICL board of directors. Criteria for grant selection:
